School Configuration
Mealsite can be configured for one or more schools. When configured as a single school Mealsite, the school user interface is omitted, since the visitors already know which school they are ordering for. A multi-school Mealsite is configured by your account manager and adds support for multiple schools to the order form and reports.
The School is a primary method for organizing your records in Mealsite. A school has defined grades and teachers, which together provide additional report filtering and also define the correct menu to show the customer.
Grades
A school's grades are defined using 16 available grade levels. These are displayed on the order form and report filters once a school is selected. The school + grade combination also determines the menu, so a single menu can serve multiple grades at multiple schools.
Teachers
A school's teachers are defined by name. This is mainly an organization feature, but schools that serve lunch by class can benefit by having the Daily Report sorted properly.
Student Roster
The student roster for the school defines students by name, student ID, date of birth, grade, teacher, and price level. This feature provides authenticated preapproval for customers on the Reduced and Free price levels. It is also helpful for locking down your ordering system to only known students, along with reducing input errors from customer-provided data.
